MDPE

MDPE (Medium-Density Polyethylene)

MDPE are not to be used for hot water and should not exceed 20C, can be used for portable water, fluids and slurries under pressure and are one of the most widely used systems above and below ground pipework installations. Products are manufactured to the highest quality and approval.

HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene)

HDPE has good chemical resistance and can withstand most caustic substances and acids.

It remains very tough at temperatures as low as -40°C and has very good impact abilities at temperatures above 5°C.

It is very versatile and considered one of the most used plastics worldwide, especially in the manufacturing industry for bottles, containers and pipes.

HDPE pipe can be assembled using Socket Fusion, Butt Fusion and Electro Fusion and is commonly used for underground installations.

There are some disadvantages to HDPE that you need to bear in mind when using this plastic:

  • It is highly flammable.
  • Poor when exposed to outside weather conditions.
  • It is not biodegradable.
